We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources & Safety Coordinator to support both our people operations and safety compliance efforts. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction or mechanical contracting environment and is passionate about fostering a safe, compliant, and positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Human Resources Functions

  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires
  • Maintain employee records and ensure HRIS data accuracy
  • Support benefits administration and employee inquiries
  • Help implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with labor laws
  • Coordinate training and professional development initiatives
  • Assist with performance management processes and documentation

Safety Coordination Functions

  • Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety programs and policies
  • Conduct regular job site safety audits and inspections
  • Coordinate safety training, including OSHA compliance and toolbox talks
  • Maintain safety records, incident reports, and compliance documentation
  • Assist in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE and safety equipment
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local safety regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Occupational Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in HR, safety coordination, or a similar role (construction industry preferred)
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and HR best practices
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)
