Immediate opening for a full time Commercial Journeyman Pipe Welder
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and certified Commercial Journeyman Pipe Welder to join our field team. If you are highly experienced in pipe welding and take pride in delivering clean, high-quality welds in commercial environments, we want to hear from you.
The Commercial Journeyman Pipe Welder will be responsible for welding and installing commercial piping systems per project specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various welding techniques (SMAW, GTAW, etc.) and materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.), along with strong pipefitting fundamentals.
Responsibilities:
- Weld and assemble piping systems using approved welding methods (TIG, Stick, MIG, etc.) per project requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols.
- Cut, prep, fit, and weld pipe for commercial mechanical systems (steam, hydronic, chilled water, gas, etc.).
- Perform X-ray quality welds where required and pass code welding tests.
- Use rigging and hoisting equipment to position pipe and components safely.
- Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and other trades on-site.
- Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specs.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Valid WI/MN Journeyman Pipefitter/Welder license.
- Minimum 4+ years of commercial pipe welding experience.
- Proficient in SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), and MIG welding processes.
- Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping.
- Able to read and interpret complex piping and welding blueprints.
- Must be able to pass weld tests including 6G (preferred).
- Strong understanding of safety practices and OSHA compliance.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a crew in a fast-paced environment.
- Welding certifications (ASME or AWS) preferred but not required.
